Fire & RescueAsa Philip Randolph has partnered with the Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department to create our Fire and Rescue Department to create our Fire and Rescue Career Academy. This prepares students for a thrilling career in Firefighting or Emergency Medical Services. Students enrolled in this Academy have the opportunity to participate in the Explorers Program and acquire hands on, real world experience. The Firefighting program content includes, but is not limited to, orientation to the fire service, fire alarms and communication, vehicles apparatus and equipment, fire behavior, portable extinguishers, fire streams, fundamentals of extinguishment, ladders, hoses, tools and equipment, forcible entry, salvage, overhaul, ventilation, rescue, protective breathing equipment, first responder emergency medical techniques, water supplies, principles of in-service inspections, safety, controlled burning and employability skills.
Asa Philip Randolph Academies of Technology is the only school that offers the Fire and Rescue Academy in Duval County.
