AP Program Description

 

The AP Honors Program at Baldwin Middle Senior High School is designed to provide students a rigorous course of study.  The students in this program will be required to complete nine Advanced Placement courses.  The courses include U.S. History, English Literature, English Language, one AP Science course, one AP Mathematics course, and four elective courses.  Prerequisite to entering the AP program, students must have completed Algebra 1 by the ninth grade, have an unweighted G.P.A. of 2.0 or above, and have a contract signed by the parent.  The benefits of being in the program include:

bullet Possible college credit if they score at least a 3 out of 5 on the AP Exam
bullet Improvement/strengthening of critical thinking skills
bullet Excellent preparation for post-secondary education

We at Baldwin Middle Senior High believe this program is an honor to be in and we hope our students look forward to the challenge.
