Guidance
School counselors in Duval County Public Schools are state certified professional educators. Specialists in learning, information, and human relationships, they work in elementary, middle and high schools to assist students, teachers, parents, and school administrators. Guidance counselors help all students develop their educational, social, career, and personal strengths and to become responsible and productive citizens. Emphasis is placed on helping students to learn more effectively and efficiently.
All this is done through individual counseling, large group counseling, consultation, parent/teacher conferences, references to outside agencies, and small group counseling. Guidance counselors help identify children with special needs and get them the help needed to be successful. This helps to build life-long positive self images.
Crystal Springs’ Guidance Programs include Child Study Team, Peer Helpers, and Substance Abuse Prevention.
