Students must:
Be at the bus stop ready to board at least 5 minutes before the arrival time as the bus cannot wait for tardy students
Stand off the road in a single file line awaiting the bus
Stay seated at all times while the bus is in motion
Keep head and arms inside the bus windows
Wait for the bus drivers signal before crossing the road, and always cross the road immediately in front of the bus
Ride quietly as unnecessary noise may disturb the driver and create driving hazards
Conduct themselves as described in the Student Code of Conduct
Be absolutely quiet while the bus is stopped for crossing all railroad tracks
Obey the bus driver at all times (Driver will assign seats to promote order on the bus and write referrals if necessary.)
Not eat, drink, or chew gum on the bus
A student who repeatedly misbehaves on the bus may be suspended from the bus. Inappropriate behavior will result in the following:
1st Offense- Parent Contacted (warning)
2nd Offense- Parent Conference and a minimum of three days suspension from the bus
3rd Offense- Parent Contacted and a 5 to 10 day suspension from the bus

It will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide transportation to and from school while their child is suspended from the bus.
A student not assigned to a bus cannot ride the bus unless written parental permission has been submitted to the Guidance Office and approval has been granted. Students assigned to ride a bus, but temporarily using another form of transportation, must bring a parental note stating that they will not ride the bus that day.
We are fortunate to have a beautiful, well-equipped library/media center. Our CD-ROM Research Center is now in full operation. Each child will have the opportunity to check out books when his/her class has library time. Please remember to bring your books back on time. Parents, please help us emphasize that these books are expensive to replace. Any library book which is lost, damaged, or destroyed must be paid for in cash (no checks) by the parents.
Florida law requires that we provide textbooks, on a loan basis, to each child. However, if a textbook is lost, damaged or destroyed by the child, the parents will be required to pay in cash (no checks) for the replacement of the textbook.
For obvious health and safety reasons, please notify the Physical Education teacher of any physical problems that may require restricted activity. If a student is to be excused for the day due to illness or injury, a note from the parent/guardian is required. A release form from your doctor is necessary when a student has been excused for a serious illness or injury and wishes to resume physical education activity. A medical record or doctors note explaining the health problem must be on file in the office if a student requires restricted activity for an extended time.
Field trips provide valuable educational experiences for our students. A permission slip will be sent home for parents to sign before the day of the field trip so that the child can participate. No child can go off school grounds on a field trip without a signed official field trip form. Permission cannot be granted by telephone or by a handwritten note. Students transported by their parents on a class field trip must be signed out in the front office before leaving the school. Students riding the bus must return to school on the bus.

Teach your child to be responsible, to keep and care for belongings, to follow directions, to listen, to do his/her best, and to think for himself or herself.
Build the feelings that school is a pleasant place, that the principal, teachers, and staff are friends who want to be kind and helpful.
See that your child has pencil, paper, books, and assignments each school day. Vending machines will be available for purchasing paper and pencils.
Show an interest in your childs school day. Ask your child to share school experiences with you.
Jackets, sweaters, caps, etc. should be marked with your childs name. A lost and found area will be provided. Every year many items are never claimed due to lack of identification. Periodically unclaimed lost and found items will be donated to a local charity.
Help us by seeing that your child leaves all extra money, chewing gum, candy and toys are home.
Teach your child the dangers of accepting favors such as candy, rides home, etc. from strangers. Encourage your child to report to you or the teacher any incidents in which anyone behaves inappropriately towards him/her.
Your child needs to have a certain time each day to do homework. If he/she does not have any written homework, encourage your child to spend the time reading, drawing a picture, or writing a story or poem. By developing this study plan, you can help your child form good study habits at an early age.
