First Coast High School consists of five “schools-within-a-school” or houses with specific career or academic themes. Within each house at the 9^th and 10^th grades levels, there are interdisciplinary teams of 4 core teachers
(English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies).  These teachers share a common group of 120-150 students.  Each team works together to provide a more personalized learning environment that will positively affect grades, test scores, attendance rates, graduation rates, school safety, and reduce the likelihood of drug and alcohol use.   At the 11^th and 12 grade levels, each interdisciplinary team consists of two to three core teachers sharing students.  Honors, standard and special education classes are offered in each house.
