        SPANISH IMMERSION

Immersion is an approach to language instruction in which ALL the usual curricular activities are conducted in Spanish.  This method gives English speaking students an opportunity to complete standards-based curriculum in a different, challenging way by immersing them in the Spanish language and culture.  It provides the student with a solid academic foundation with instruction in all academic areas.  Students become proficient in both languages, English and Spanish, while learning the curriculum content as any other student in Duval County.  The goal of our program is to develop proficient, bi-literate and bilingual students by the end of 8th grade.

Our program has been in existence for over ten years and is taught by fluent, Spanish speaking teachers.  They provide assistance with classroom content, as well as, introduce Spanish culture to students in this unique program.  Students are accepted in grades Pre-K through first grade in Spanish Montessori and grades Kindergarten through first in Spanish.

If you would like more information on this program please contact our Magnet Liaison, Dora Pistro, at 630-6540 or
