Important Technology Links
Approximately once a month, the DCPS Technology division must complete updates and maintenance which will cause various systems to be offline (including Odyssey and Oncourse). Click here for the listing of scheduled outages.
OnCourse Parent Portal passwords will be available for pick-up at Open House. Parents may also pick up their passwords anytime after Open House in the Guidance Office. Passwords will only be given to legal guardians, and must be received in person, not over the telephone. Log in IDs and Passwords do not change from year to year. Any student or parent given an OnCourse ID and password in previous years may continue to use the same ID/password.
The county has made access to Compass Odyssey easier from home. Students, simply put in your user name and password and you can begin work! If you have trouble with Odyssey on your home computer. Click check system at the bottom of the log-in page (see the screenshot below) and Odyssey will tell you which updates you need to run on your computer. You can also try running Odyssey on Firefox which can be downloaded for free from Mozilla's website.
Gizmos are used by Math and Science classes.
The DCPS Academic Looking Glass newsletter is a
quick reference guide that details the district curriculum that students
should be learning during a sliding two week window in the core content
areas of Science, Math, Reading, Writing, English Language Arts (ELA)
and Social Studies. The Looking Glass is distributed electronically to
principals, teachers and district staff on a bi-weekly basis during the
school year. Other content areas regularly covered by the newsletter
include Read 180, select Advance Placement (AP) courses and timely
information from departments such as Exceptional Student Education and
