The Vision of The Ribault Early
College EC Program
Each
student will graduate from high school with the opportunity
to achieve up to 60 credits of college coursework completed
toward the Associate of Arts Degree at FCCJ. The Early
College curriculum integrates the high school graduation
requirement with courses designed to lead to an Associate of
Arts degree. Graduation will celebrate the student achieving
a diploma from high school, up to 60 hours of credit, and/or
a possible AA degree from FCCJ. The college course
selections are made with an eye to admission to a four year
institution of higher education with Bright Futures
Scholarship support.
The curriculum is challenging and fast-paced. It is focused
on student learning through cross-curricular, experimental,
and performance assessments. The student is expected to want
to learn for the positive value added to their journey to
and through college. Ultimately, the student could complete
a post-graduate college degree by the time their friends
finish a four-year degree.
It is imperative for out future generation of business,
industry, and social leaders to set goals of positive and
productive lives. The Early College will be an environment
that the young person, growing toward their adult lives,
will be challenged to grow intellectually and to learn
personal responsibility through commitment to a vision
focused on success in every goal they set.
The Ribault HS Community
of learners
The students and faculty of Early College are members of
Ribault High School. We are expected to be participants and
leaders within Ribault. We will follow and abide by the same
rituals and routines of Ribault. We will abide by all Duval
County Public Schools policies for student behavior and
progression. We will, however, expect of ourselves a focused
view of our goal. We will maintain the academic rigor
required to achieve the curricular requirements set forth in
the continuation policy so that we may achieve the
Associates of Arts degree from FCCJ. Our role of being good
citizens at Ribault will ensure the best and brightest
student relationship possible.
