S.E.A.S. - Successfully Educating All Children

School Mission

San Mateo Elementary is an Accelerated School dedicated magnet.  This school continues to follow the philosophy of The Accelerated Schools Project, which treats all children as academically talented.  Students receive a solid foundation in the basic subjects through high-quality teaching strategies usually reserved for the intellectually gifted.  This philosophy does not believe that learning should go faster.  Instead, the inquiry method  is taught to help students solve problems on their own or in teams.  Teachers take students from their current academic levels and move them forward in the standards based curriculum taken from the researched-based National Center on Education and the Economy (www.ncee.org).

School Vision

At San Mateo Elementary School all students will meet or exceed local, state, and new performance standards.
