School meals have never tasted better. And they've never been better for your child. More than 75% of our menu items are prepared at a state-of-the-art nutrition center. The Nutrition Center using Duval County's food service provider uses fresh and healthy ingredients. And every meal is planned according to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards for nutrition. Nutritious meals impact the health and success of our students and are essential for strong academic performance. Our goal is to enhance student performance by providing nutritious meals and promoting the importance of healthy eating. Nutrition standards are based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the Food Guide Pyramid. Student meals contain adequate calories and provide a variety of choices. No more forgetting lunch money! MyLunchMoney.com is a convenient and easy to use credit card prepayment system that allows parents to add money to their child's meal account at the school he/she attends. How does it work? When the child goes through the food service line the money for his/her meal is deducted from the account balance, eliminating the need to send money each day for lunch or breakfast. Parents are able to set recurring payments based on a low balance amount that they specify. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of this service. What does it cost? The charge to the parent is $1.95 per transaction effective September 1, 2008.
