the EDDY AWARDS
Each year, The Alliance for World Class Education recognizes outstanding teachers in Duval County. The process focuses on choosing the best and the brightest teacher at each public school for recognition at a celebration called The EDDY Awards. To compete, a teacher must submit a lengthy written document, be observed in the classroom and be interviewed. The process alone increases awareness of the “best practices” that can be employed at each school in the system. Both the process and celebration involve the community, principals, cluster chiefs and teachers.

Recognition begins at the school level, progresses to the regional, and culminates at the district level with The EDDY Awards gala – a black-tie event lauding the county’s teachers most deserving of recognition. The gala captures a snapshot of the best of the best in public education and highlights great accomplishments in Duval County Public Schools.
