About Lucretia Miller
Lucretia Miller has taught for eight years in Duval County. Her philosophy is that every child can learn and public schools are in a unique situation to impact all children regardless of race, religion and class. She has transformed the Chaffee Trail media center into an active and vibrant location for students to access materials and engage in the learning process.
Ms. Miller incorporates technology into her lessons and develops electronic resources for use in all classrooms. She designed a library website with links and information for students, teachers and parents that has been recognized and included on a world-wide listing of quality school library websites.
“To be the heart and hub of the school, the school community and stakeholders must view the school library media center as vital –where there are an abundance of current, quality resources to teach each of the standards, interesting literature for students to escape into, a welcoming environment in which to think, absorb and learn and a qualified school library media specialist to tie it all together and be the catalyst for higher-level thinking and increased student achievement. I am proud to say that this reflects the school library at Chaffee Trail.”
“Mrs. Miller’s enthusiasm, innovativeness and genuine concern for excellence in education are exemplary. Her flexibility in working with students and colleagues has earned her an enviable reputation as an excellent teacher who truly cares about her students. Her instruction is planned and delivered to meet the individual needs of all of Chaffee Trail’s students.”
