PTA membership is only $5 although you are welcome to contribute more. PTA is an organization that links parents and teachers to help everyone in the school. Your contribution and time is very valued and appreciated. If you can give any time at all in helping our PTA, please contact one of the board members listed below.

2009-2010 School Year

The  PTA is sponsoring “Birthday Wishes on the marquee”

For a donation to the Abess Park PTA, you can have your child’s birthday announced on the sign in front of the school for the entire school, and neighborhood, to see!

1.       Fill out the Birthday Form with your child’s name (written very carefully, please!)

2.       Fill out  his/ her birthday date

3.       Submit to the front office (or your child’s teacher) with your payment of $10.00

4.       Look for the wishes on his/her special day! 

We must have payment submitted with the request.

10 @ 6pm PTA general meeting for all interested parents – committee explanations

17 – Open house (K. 4^th, 5^th )

24 – open house (1^st,2^nd,3^rd)

October

3 – FALL FESTIVAL

22 - Bruster's Ice Cream Night

30 – Trick or Treat for Box tops

*we expect to sponsor pizza for Literacy Luau usually during this month (date has not been set yet)

November

5 – Bingo Night

9-24 – collecting items for baskets for a silent auction held during Night of the Arts (Dec 3)

December

3 – Night of the Arts – This includes a silent auction of gift baskets

January

21 – Feb 5 – Krispy Kreme certificate sale (to tie in with Valentine’s day)

February

 5 – doughnut orders turned in

11 – certificates back to students for delivery

March

5- 19 – Spring Catalog fundraise

9-11 – FCAT Testing ?????? – PTA would like to put together snacks for the students for this

26^th – send home read-a-thon sponsor sheets (kids turn everything back in April 30 so they have it to read over spring break)

April

30 – read-a –thon sheets and money come back in

May

3-7 – Teacher appreciation week????? –

7- Muffins with Mom

*Will have play days towards end of month – snow cones, popcorn , drinks, etc

June

4 – doughnuts with Dad

???? – 5^th grade promotion
