A six member team, representing all of the schools competing in The Superintendent's Academic Challenge competed in the Commissioner's Academic Challenge, a competition among 47 school districts in Florida. Duval County competed in Group I, 16 large districts, and last won in 1997. The competition was held from April 25, through April 27, 2002 at The Contemporary Resort Convention Center at Walt Disney World, in Orlando, Florida. The competitions were held in Convention rooms labeled Fantasia and are listed below. Round numbers not listed are for Division 2 and Division 3 districts.
A member of the winning team in each group will be selected for Team Florida and will represent our state in the National Panasonic Academic Challenge in June, in the same location. Josh Wills, of Mandarin High School was on Team Florida in 1997.
