This six member team, representing all of the schools competing in Brain Brawl, will compete in the Commissioner's Academic Challenge, a competition among most school districts in Florida. Duval County competes in Group I, the large districts, and last won in 1997. In 2003, they finished third. The competition will be held at The Contemporary Resort Convention Center at Walt Disney World, in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, from April 27 through April 29, 2006. Mr. Andy Scudder of Mandarin High School and Mr. Matt Schnippert of Stanton High School will coach the team.
A member of the winning team in each group is selected for Team Florida and will represent our state in the National Panasonic Academic Challenge in June, in the same location. Josh Wills, of Mandarin High School was on Team Florida in 1997.
