Congratulations to
the Class of 2012, the FIRST graduating class of Atlantic Coast High
School. During our commencement ceremony, I was so proud of every
graduate and their accomplishments along with every way each has
contributed to building a positive culture at this school. Eighty
percent of the Class of 2012 will be leaving us to attend nationally
ranked secondary institutions in ten different states. ACHS
students will also be entering every branch of the military
service. Collectively the Class of 2012 earned just under three
million dollars in scholarship monies.
Faculty, staff,
parents, and students: Thank you for all you have contributed to
making the 2011 – 2012 school year a successful one! Together we
embraced the challenge of continuing to build ACHS into an
outstanding high school. Our many accomplishments included
graduating a great group of seniors, adding approximately 700
additional students and 30 new staff members who have successfully
worked together with the existing student body and staff, and
enjoying many sports victories!
All students should
receive their final report cards for the year by the end of next
week via US mail, along with information on credit recovery offered
here during the weeks of June 18th and 25th ,
and the specific dates and times for orientation the week of August
6th. It is very important for our students to keep their
orientation appointment as they will receive their schedule, books,
and other important information to prepare them for learning. As we
all relax and refresh during this summer break, please take time to
discuss with your son or daughter the high academic and behavioral
expectations we have for him or her at ACHS. The first day of
school is August 20th, 2012; every student should arrive
on time and be prepared to engage in active learning!
