Title: 12. STUDENT SERVICES WEEK
Requested Action:
- THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD PROCLAIM FEBRUARY 2-6, 2004 AS STUDENT SERVICES WEEK.
- THAT THE BOARD AUTHORIZE THE BOARD CHAIRMAN AND SUPERINTENDENT TO AFFIX THEIR SIGNATURES TO THE PROCLAMATION.
Summary Explanation and Background:
The Florida Department of Education has designated the week of February 2-6, 2004 as “Student Services Week” in the State of Florida. The Governor and Cabinet will issue a proclamation endorsing this week. Districts are encouraged to request recognition of this event from the School Board. The purpose is to focus attention on the support services provided to students, parents, educators, and the community by school counselors, school nurses, school psychologists, school social workers, and career education staff. The Student Services Department will schedule awareness activities and provide schools with additional information about their services.
