Title: 3. RECOGNITION OF COLONEL JAMES BROWN, SANDALWOOD HIGH SCHOOL AIR FORCE JUNIOR ROTC SUPERVISOR
Requested Action:
Sandalwood High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC Unit recently participated in Florida 941 Pine Ridge High School’s 7th Annual Invitational Drill Competition.
The Air Force Jr. ROTC Unit was recognized for their superior performance during the Invitational Drill Competition and earned the coveted Overall Team Trophy.
Retired Colonel James R. Brown supervises the Sandalwood High School AFJROTC Unit, and along with Master Sergeant Robert L. Doty, both have taught the Unit the distinctive talents of military discipline, duty, honor and service.
This evening, the Air Force Association, an independent nonprofit aerospace organization, will present a letter of commendation to Colonel Brown and the Sandalwood High School AFJROTC Unit, while the Duval County School Board also salutes the performance of the Sandalwood High School’s Air Force Jr. ROTC Unit.
At this time, we ask Richard Ortega, Vice President of Aerospace Education for the Air Force Association, to come forward for remarks and the presentation.
