Title: 1. Approve Lease Agreement between Duval County Public Schools and the Jacksonville Urban League Head Start Program for Space at Lola Culver Elementary School No. 13

Requested Action:

RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF A LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE DUVAL COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND THE JACKSONVILLE URBAN LEAGUE HEAD START PROGRAM FOR SPACE AT LOLA CULVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NO. 13. 

 

RECOMMEND THAT THE BOARD AUTHORIZE THE CHAIRMAN AND THE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS TO EXECUTE THE LEASE AGREEMENT WHEN FORM APPROVED BY THE OFFICE OF GENERAL COUNSEL. 

Summary Explanation and Background:

The Jacksonville Urban League Head Start Program has requested use of the former Music Suite, Room 19, at Lola Culver Elementary School No. 13.   This room is not being utilized by the elementary school and would provide the needed space for the Head Start Program in this area. 

 

The lease term will be for one year at the rate of one dollar ($1.00) per year.  Under the terms of the proposed lease, it will renew itself from year to year unless terminated by the lessee or lessor giving thirty (30) days notice to the other party.  This agreement will have no adverse impact on DCSB property.

Financial Impact:
The district will receive one dollar per year for the use of this room.
