Title: 2.  DISTRICT MEMBERSHIP DUES AND FEES FOR 2005-2006

Requested Action:
THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVE THE MEMBERSHIP FOR THE 2005-2006 SCHOOL YEAR IN ORGANIZATIONS ON THE ATTACHED LIST

Summary Explanation and Background:

The Duval County School Board has been an active participant in a number of educational associations at the State and National level.  Local Board Members have served in various leadership roles in these organizations.  The District has benefited through opportunities for staff development, shared research data, policy development, implementation of legislation favorable to education, and public advocacy on educational issues.

The cost of membership is generally based on district size.  The dollar amounts represent current dues, whcih are subject to change upon receipt of renewal invoices.
