Title: 4. Florida Inclusion Network (FIN) grant from the Florida Department of Education
Requested Action:
1. APPROVE THE SUBMISSION OF A CONTINUATION APPLICATION FOR FISCAL YEAR 2005-2006 FOR THE FLORIDA INCLUSION NETWORK (FIN) GRANT PROPOSAL FOR DUVAL COUNTY IN THE AMOUNT OF $250,000.00
2. UPON NOTIFICATION OF AWARD BY THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, AUTHORIZE THE ACCEPTANCE OF THESE FUNDS AND THEIR BUDGETING IN THE APPROPRIATE PART IV, SPECIAL REVENUE BUDGET RESOLUTION, AND APPROVE THE SUBMISSION OF NEEDED AMENDMENTS.
Summary Explanation and Background:
The Florida Inclusion Network (FIN) grant from the Florida Department of Education provides funding for a District FIN Coordinator and ESE Specialist to support the training, planning and implementation of initiatives related to inclusionary practices. The FIN staff assists in the planning for and training of teachers to implement various inclusive service delivery models in classrooms. Other activities include the dissemination of information on research-based practices and the evaluation of school and district efforts in the area of inclusion.
