Requested Action:

RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF SOURCE OF SUPPLY CONTRACT FOR CLOCK & BELL SUPPLIES TO LOW CONFORMING BIDDERS FOR THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 1, 2005 THROUGH JULY 31, 2006.  RECOMMEND AUTHORITY BE DELEGATED TO THE SUPERINTENDENT OR DESIGNEE TO RENEW THE CONTRACT FOR SUBSEQUENT YEARS PROVIDED TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.  THERE ARE TWO POTENTIAL RENEWALS. 

Summary Explanation and Background:

This is a procurement request to provide a source of supply for Clock & Bell Supplies to be utilized by the general storeroom and for schools/departments throughout the district.  The expenditures for the previous contract, utilized by the general storeroom, were $18,487.  Estimated expenditures for the new contract are $149,195, which includes new items that have been added for schools/departments.  This solicitation was coordinated through the office of Minority Business Affairs and any recommendations were included in the solicitation.  (ITB-045-05/DB)
