Title: 5. SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE RENEWAL - EdIN

Requested Action:

RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT RENEWAL FOR EDIN “GENESIS SCHOOL” SOFTWARE WITH HEARTLAND DATA SYSTEMS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $300,000 FOR THE PERIOD FROM DATE OF AWARD THROUGH JUNE 30, 2006. RECOMMEND AUTHORITY BE DELEGATED TO SUPERINTENDENT OR DESIGNEE TO RENEW THE AGREEMENT FOR SUBSEQUENT YEARS PROVIDED TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. THERE ARE TWO POTENTIAL RENEWALS.

Summary Explanation and Background:

This is a request by the General Director, Applications to renew a software maintenance agreement for EDIN “Genesis School” software package for FY 05/06. Agreement includes software maintenance, help desk support, on-site consultation, software updates, and custom programming as required to support full roll-out, changes to District and State requirements, program source code, analysis and off-hours emergency problem intervention that may be required. This is the third year of a five-year contract.

 

Purchase is being made in accordance with Florida Administrative Rule 6A-1.012 which allows the school district to enter into direct negotiations when purchasing information technology resources.
