Title: 6.  PREQUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS FOR EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS: NEW AND RENEWAL

Requested Action:

THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVE THE ATTACHED LIST OF PRE-QUALIFIED CONTRACTORS.

Summary Explanation and Background:

Facilities Services is prescribing uniform requirements for the pre-qualification of contractors working on Duval County Public Schools construction projects in accordance with Florida Statutes 1013.46(2) and State Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF), Section 4.1(8), and “Prequalification of Contractors for Educational Facilities Construction”.

 

On November 21, 2006, contractor applications were reviewed and evaluated by a Contractor Prequalification Review Committee to make recommendations for the type of project, dollar volume, and limits allowed within the scope of the Prequalification to the Duval County Public Schools.

 

On November 21, 2006, the Review Committee recommended the renewal of contractors for another one‑year period per the attached renewal list.

 

Facilities Services Division and Minority Business Affairs staff have reviewed the qualifications of these contractors and recommend they be approved.
