Title: 4. LOCKERS, STUDENT WARDROBE, VARSITY AND PE

Requested Action:
THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVE A SOURCE OF SUPPLY CONTRACT FOR LOCKERS, STUDENT WARDROBE, VARSITY AND PE, FROM DATE OF AWARD THROUGH JUNE 30, 2008.  RECOMMEND AUTHORITY BE DELEGATED TO THE SUPERINTENDENT OR HIS DESIGNEE TO RENEW THE CONTRACT IN SUBSEQUENT YEARS PROVIDED TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.  THERE ARE TWO POTENTIAL RENEWALS.

Summary Explanation and Background:
This is a procurement request by the Director, Facilities Maintenance to provide a source of supply contract for Lockers, Student Wardrobe, Varsity and PE.  This bid was coordinated through the Office of Minority Business Affairs and any recommendations were included in the solicitation. (ITB-030-07/LM)

Financial Impact (Including HR/headcount/Source of Funds):
Last contract period $210,000 was expended under the expiring contract.  We anticipate $300,000 will be spent on this contract.  This represents an estimated $90,000 cost increase over the previous year.  This increase is due to the plan to replace all the lockers at a school.
