7. TENNIS COURT REPAIR

 

Requested Action:
THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVE A SOURCE OF SUPPLY FOR TENNIS COURT REPAIR WITH COURT SURFACES INC. FROM AUGUST 1, 2007 THROUGH JULY 31, 2008.  RECOMMEND AUTHORITIY BE DELEGATED TO THE SUPERINTENDENT OR HIS DESIGNEE TO RENEW THE CONTRACT IN SUBSEQUENT YEARS PROVIDED TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.  THERE ARE TWO POTENTIAL RENEWALS.

Summary Explanation and Background:
This is a procurement request by Facilities Maintenance to provide a source of supply contract for Tennis Court Repair to be used by the District.  This bid was coordinated through the Office of Minority Business Affairs and any recommendations were included in the solicitation.  (ITB-038-07/EM)

Financial Impact (Including HR/headcount/Source of Funds):
Last contract period $68,000 was expended under the expiring contract.  We anticipate $115,000 will be sent on this contract.  This represents an estimated $47,000 cost increase over the previous year.  The increase is due to the removal of existing fencing around the tennis court.  This item was included on the bid but may or may not be used.
