Title: 3. GRANT A TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION EASEMENT TO JENSEN CIVIL CONSTRUCTION CO., INC., AT LANDMARK MIDDLE SCHOOL NO. 256
Requested Action:
THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVE A TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION EASEMENT ALONG THE WESTERN BOUNDARY OF THE LANDMARK MIDDLE SCHOOL NO. 256 PROPERTY, TO JENSEN CIVIL CONSTRUCTION CO., INC.
THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD AUTHORIZE THE CHAIRMAN AND THE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS TO EXECUTE A TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION EASEMENT DOCUMENT WHEN FORM APPROVED BY THE OFFICE OF GENERAL COUNSEL.
Summary Explanation and Background:
The City of Jacksonville is widening Kernan Boulevard north of Atlantic Boulevard and in front of Landmark Middle School No. 256. Jensen Civil Construction, Inc., is the contractor for the construction project. Jensen requires a temporary construction easement for the staging of equipment and construction materials for the duration of the project. The requested easement area contains ± 2.30 acres.
There will be no impact on the function of the school site and the principal is aware of this request. He has no objection.

Financial Impact (Including HR/headcount/Source of Funds):
While the District will receive no monetary compensation for this easement, Jensen Civil Construction, Inc., has performed grading, leveling and surface improvements at Englewood High School No. 90 at the corner of Betty Ann Lane and Barnes Road to create an additional parking area. The value of these improvements is $16,000. The total value of the temporary construction easement is ±$2,700 for the 17-month period.
