Title: 2. ELECTRICAL SUPPLIES

Requested Action:
THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVE SOURCE OF SUPPLY CONTRACT FOR ELECTRICAL SUPPLIES FROM DATE OF AWARD THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2008.  RECOMMEND AUTHORITY BE DELEGATED TO THE SUPERINTENDENT OR HIS DESIGNEE TO RENEW THE CONTRACT IN SUBSEQUENT YEARS PROVIDED TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.  THERE ARE TWO POTENTIAL RENEWALS.

Summary Explanation and Background:
This is a procurement request by the Director of Property Management/Warehousing to provide a source of supply contract for electrical supplies to be utilized throughout the district.  This bid was coordinated through the Office of Minority Business Affairs and any recommendations were included in the solicitation. (ITB-006-08/CP)

Last contract period $44,600 was expended under the expiring contract.  We anticipate $55,300 will be spent on this contract.
