Requested Action:
THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVE THE APPOINTMENT OF AND AN AGREEMENT WITH THE FIRM OF BHIDE & HALL ARCHITECTS, P.A., TO PROVIDE ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR DESIGN OF NEW K-5 (WATERLEAF) SCHOOL NO. 160, FOR A PROFESSIONAL FEE OF $1,918,824, AND A BUDGET AMENDMENT RESOLUTION.
THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD AUTHORIZE THE CHAIRMAN AND THE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS TO EXECUTE THE STANDARD FORM OF AGREEMENT WHEN FORM APPROVED BY THE OFFICE OF GENERAL COUNSEL.
Summary Explanation and Background:
The project is for the design and construction of a new K-5 school for 788 student stations.
The Professional Services Committee of the Duval County School Board met on October 22, 2007, and recommended the firm of Bhide & Hall Architects, P.A.
This proposal has been reviewed by the Office of Minority Business Affairs and found to be in compliance with Duval County School Board Minority Business Enterprise requirements.

This agreement is based on budgeted construction costs of $20,000,000, and the fixed professional fee includes $500,000 for additional services.
