Title: 5. GRANT A PERMANENT EASEMENT TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AT DUNCAN U. FLETCHER MIDDLE SCHOOL NO. 63
Requested Action:
THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVE A 0.02 ACRE (1,019 SQ. FT.) PERMANENT EASEMENT TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (FDOT), TO INSTALL ADA COMPLIANT SIDEWALKS, TRAFFIC SIGNAL MAST ARM AND CONTROL CABINET AT DUNCAN U. FLETCHER MIDDLE SCHOOL NO. 63.
THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD AUTHORIZE ITS CHAIRMAN AND THE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS TO EXECUTE THIS DOCUMENT WHEN FORM APPROVED BY THE OFFICE OF GENERAL COUNSEL.
Summary Explanation and Background:
The FDOT’s intersection improvement project at Seagate Avenue and AIA, the northeast corner of the Fletcher Middle School site, will include ADA compliant sidewalks and ramps, as well as a new traffic signal mast arm with control cabinet. The area encumbered by this easement contains 1,019 sq. ft. (0.02 acres) and does not adversely affect the School Board property. The easement will allow for the placement and maintenance of the FDOT equipment.
These improvements will be made at no cost to the district and will improve safety and ADA accessibility at Duncan U. Fletcher Middle School No. 63.
There will be no interruption of school function.
