Title: 7. GRANT OF EASEMENT TO THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE FOR ACCESS AND DRAINAGE AT FIRST COAST HIGH SCHOOL NO. 265
Requested Action:
THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVE A GRANT OF EASEMENT TO THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE FOR DRAINAGE AND ACCESS FOR THE CITY'S NEW AQUATIC CENTER AT FIRST COAST HIGH SCHOOL NO. 265.
THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD AUTHORIZE ITS CHAIRMAN AND THE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS TO EXECUTE THIS DOCUMENT WHEN FORM APPROVED BY THE OFFICE OF GENERAL COUNSEL.
Summary Explanation and Background:
The City of Jacksonville is moving forward with the construction of an aquatic center on their site adjacent to First Coast High School No. 265. To accommodate this project, it is recommended that the Duval County School Board grant to the City of Jacksonville an easement for drainage purposes and an easement for access to their site. The access easement will be over an existing driveway on the school site and will contain approximately 0.51 acres. The drainage easement will be over existing ponds and will contain approximately 4.16 acres.
In lieu of compensation, the City will enter into a Joint Use Agreement with the Duval County School Board to allow joint use of the aquatic center. Similar agreements are already in place for 17 other swimming pool sites.

· Students get priority use.
