Title: 1. APPROVAL OF SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL MEMBERSHIPS FOR 2007-08
Requested Action:
THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVE THE SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL MEMBERSHIPS EFFECTIVE THROUGH DECEMBER 2008.
Summary Explanation and Background:
In accordance with Florida Statute, school boards are required to establish an advisory council for each school in the district. A majority of each School Advisory Council shall be composed of persons who are not employed at the school. Furthermore, the School Advisory Councils should be representative of the ethnic, racial, and economic community served by the school. The membership of each proposed School Advisory Council has been reviewed by the Instructional Research and Accountability office for compliance with statute.
Printed lists of the proposed School Advisory Council memberships for each school will be available for review in the School Board offices and the Instructional Research and Accountability office no later than November 27, 2007.
