Title: 1. LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH THE JACKSONVILLE CHAPTER OF CHILDREN'S INTERNATIONAL SUMMER VILLAGES, INC., FOR THE USE OF DUNCAN U. FLETCHER MIDDLE SCHOOL NO. 63

Requested Action:

THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVE A LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH THE Jacksonville Chapter of Children's International Summer Villages, Inc., FOR THE USE OF DUNCAN U. FLETCHER MIDDLE SCHOOL NO. 63.

 

THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF REAL ESTATE OR THE DIRECTOR OF REAL PROPERTY TO MAKE NON‑SUBSTANTIVE, NON‑TECHNICAL, NON‑MATERIAL CHANGES TO THE AGREEMENT WITHOUT SEEKING ADDITIONAL BOARD ACTION.

 

THAT THE DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD AUTHORIZE THE SUPERINTENDENT TO EXECUTE THE LICENSE AGREEMENT WHEN FORM APPROVED BY THE OFFICE OF GENERAL COUNSEL.

Summary Explanation and Background:

The Jacksonville Chapter of Children's International Summer Villages, Inc. (‘CISV’), has formally requested a License Agreement for use of Fletcher Middle School, from June 11, 2008 through July 25, 2008 for two residential camps, local Faces of Jacksonville 2-week Village and international CISV 4-week Village.

 

The Jacksonville Chapter of CISV will be allowed use of the cafeteria, gym, showers, bathrooms, lockers, washing machine, dryer, storage room, athletic fields and courts, art rooms, and the classrooms.

 

The Jacksonville Chapter of CISV will donate $500 per week to the Principal’s Discretionary Fund at Fletcher Middle School for allowing use of the Fletcher Middle School facilities and equipment, to be paid in two installments, the first $1,500 will be paid 30 days prior to occupancy.  The second installment of $1,500 will be paid within two weeks prior to the expiration of the Villages.

Financial Impact (Including HR/headcount/Source of Funds):
The Principal's Discretionary Fund at Fletcher Middle School will receive a donation of $3,000 from the Jacksonville Chapter of CISV for the License Agreement.
