Title: TOYOTA CAMRY MUSIC EDUCATION FUND
Requested Action:
- CONFIRM SUBMISSION OF A PROPOSAL TO NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR MUSIC EDUCTION FOR UP TO $50,000.

APPROVE THE ACCEPTANCE OF THESE FUNDS UPON NOTIFICATION OF AWARD AND APPROVE THEIR BUDGETING IN THE APPROPRIATE PART I GENERAL REVENUE BUDGET RESOLUTION, AND APPROVE ANY AMENDMENTS REQUIRED TO FULLY IMPLEMENT THIS GRANT.
Summary Explanation and Background:
The National Science Association for Music Education oversees these awards – underwritten by Toyota Motor Sales USA – to provide financial support to music programs that are in danger of being reduced or eliminated from the school day.
Schools that are clearly in danger of losing music programs or currently unable to provide students with adequate music programs due to lack of resources and that serve a population of students in which at least 50 percent are living in poverty or are eligible for the free or reduced lunch program may apply. Funds may not be used to replace existing expenditures for teacher salaries.
