ADDITIONS, REMODELING, RENOVATIONS AND SITE IMPROVEMENTS AT LOUIS SHEFFIELD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NO. 242:  CHANCE ORDER NO. 2 FOR RATTLER CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS, INC. - DCSB PROJECT NO. C-90490

Requested Action:
RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 IN THE ADDITIVE AMOUNT OF $23,751.50, TO A REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $331,714.50, WITH NO TIME EXTENSION TO THE CONTRACT WITH RATTLER CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS, INC., AND A BUDGET AMENDMENT RESOLUTION.

Summary Explanation and Background:

The scope of this project includes expansion of the front and side parking lots; electrical renovations; air conditioning upgrades; connection of the school to City water supply; clearing of newly acquired adjacent property.

 

This change is to provide payment of required water tap fees to the Jacksonville Electric Authority for new water service, replacement of sidewalks, additional curbs and gutters associated with the new parking lot.

 

This project was listed on the Board approved Long Range Capital Outlay Plan Schedule and Major Maintenance List. 

 

It is the recommendation of the design professional and Facilities Services Division staff that this change be approved.

Financial Impact:

Change Order No.  2 = $23,751.50

Rev. Const. Contract = $331,714.50

With approval of this change order, the total of all changes to this contract to date is $66,214.50. 

The amount of this change is within budgeted funds.

The planned funding source for this project is millage.
