Requested Action:
RECOMMEND APPOINTMENT OF THE FIRM OF W. G. MILLS, INC.,IN ASSOCIATION WITH JRA ARCHITECTS, INC., TO PROVIDE DESIGN/BUILD SERVICES FOR NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL “Y” NO. 141 (MONTESSORI-WINDSOR PARKE). IF IT DEVELOPS THAT FACILITIES SERVICES DIVISION STAFF IS UNABLE TO NEGOTIATE A SATISFACTORY AGREEMENT WITH THE FIRM OF W. G. MILLS, INC., IN ASSOCIATION WITH JRA ARCHITECTS, INC., THEY ARE AUTHORIZED TO NEGOTIATE A SATISFACTGORY AGREEMENT WITH ONE OF THE REMAINING FIRMS IN THE RANKED ORDER OF THE APPROVED EVALUATION FORM, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONSULTANTS’ COMPETITIVE NEGOTIATIONS ACT.
Summary Explanation and Background:
The scope of this design is construction of a 788-student station, single story, elementary school to be used for the Montessori method of instruction.
The Professional Services Committee of the Duval County School Board met on November 1, 2002, and recommended selection of the firm of W. G. Mills, Inc., in association with JRA Architects, Inc.
This project was listed on the Board approved Long Range Capital Outlay Plan Schedule.
This proposal has been reviewed by the Director of Minority Business Affairs and found to be in compliance with Duval County School Board Minority Business Enterprise requirements.
