Title: New ESE Building and Media Center, Remodeling of Administration Building, Plumbing, HVAC and Window Replacement at Arlington Middle School No. 213: Contract Award for Construction Management at Risk Firm and a Guaranteed Maximum Price Requested Action: RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE FIRM OF BATSON-COOK, INC., TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AT RISK SERVICES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW ESE BUILDING AND MEDIA CENTER, REMODELING OF ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, PLUMBING, HVAC AND WINDOW REPLACEMENT AT ARLINGTON MIDDLE SCHOOL NO. 213, AT A FIXED PROFESSIONAL FEE OF $770,235, CONSTRUCTION COSTS NOT TO EXCEED $6,554,365, FOR A TOTAL CONSTRUCTION BUDGET NOT TO EXCEED $7,324,600, AND A BUDGET AMENDMENT RESOLUTION. Summary Explanation and Background: This project will provide a new ESE building and media center, remodeling of the administration building, as well as plumbing and HVAC improvements. Windows will also be replaced. The Professional Services Committee of the Duval County School Board met on July 15, 2002, and recommended the selection of the firm of Batson-Cook, Inc. New Century Commission Recommendation: Financial Impact: This agreement is based on budgeted construction costs of $7,324,600.
