1. FLORIDA READING FIRST INITIATIVE
   Minutes: Dr. Joseph Torgesen gave a presentation on Florida Reading First Initiative. Congress recently passed the No Child Left Behind Act. Part of that law authorized spending approximately five billion dollars over the next six years to improve reading instruction in grades K-3. This is called the Reading First Initiative.
