1. ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN
   Minutes: Ms. Nancy Broner nominated Ms. Betty Burney for Chairmahn for 2007-2008. There were no other nominations.
   
   Ms. Burney was unanimously elected as Charman of the Board for 2007-2008.
   
   Ms. Burney spoke about her election to the School Board 3 1/2 years ago, the seriousness of taking on this task, representing the policies that affect children's lives, community meetings, bringing to the district resources, and highlighting her "village" of special people - expressing that her village is now everyone's village. Her work is dedicated so that every child receives a high quality education that he or she deserves.

3. OATH OF OFFICE
   Minutes: The following Oath of Office was administered by former Senator of New York and present City Councilman, Mr. Larry Seabrook, brother of Ms. Betty Burney, to the Chairman and Vice-Chairman, individually:
   
   "I, DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR (OR AFFIRM) that I will support, protect and defend the Constitution and Government of the United States of the State of Florida; that I am duly qualified to hold office under the Constitution of the State, and that I will well and faithfully perform the duties of Chairman/Vice-Chairman."
   
   
4. ESTABLISH TIME, PLACE, AND DATE OF REGULAR MEETINGS
   Minutes: The recommendation was to maintain the time, place and date of the Regular Monthly Board Meetings for the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m., in the first floor Board Room of the Administration Building, 1701 Prudential Drive, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
