Little Prickles
by Seventh grade students of Montessori Middle School in Norwalk
No one
wants to play with Little Prickles – he’s just too prickly! The
young porcupine thinks he can win friends by giving away his quills.
But without his quills, Little Prickles doesn’t feel like himself.
Luckily, his forest friends rally behind him and let him know that
they like him for who he is – quills and all. |

Giraffes Can't Dance
by Giles Andreae
Every animal at the
African Jungle Dance sneers at poor Gerald the giraffe when it is
his turn to perform. The chimps did a brilliant cha-cha, the
warthogs waltzed beautifully, and the rhinos rocked and rolled, but
clumsy Gerald's knees buckle and his legs twist so he flees the
party in shame. While admiring the beautiful moon, a friendly
cricket offers hope to the despondent giraffe.
