EX.C.I.T.E. Teaching Academy
Mrs. Parrish, Director

Welcome to Baldwin’s EX.C.I.T.E
Program. Many people around Duval County have wondered what Baldwin’s
Teaching Academy program is all about. We are the first Teaching Academy
class and are on our way to being role models to others who are
developing their school's teaching program. Teaching academy is a
program that helps students become teachers in the near future. A
student signs up for this class when they're in 8th grade, but
doesn’t don’t start until their ninth grade year. In this class students
get their own laptop with a number on it so they can save their work to
their computer. Our class room is very well organized as a classroom
should be. We take many field trips to other schools and actually get to
be the teachers. A recent field trip we took was to San Mateo Elementary
School where we read our big books that we made, which had to do with
“Not Bullying or Picking on Others.” Baldwin’s Teach Academy is also a
good way to show your creativity; we do a lot of projects that allow one
to show creativity. If you are interested in our programs and want to
learn more about it, you may contact our school at 266-1200 and ask for
Mrs. Parrish.
