My name is Debby Cothern and I was born and raised right here in Jacksonville. I attended Duval County Schools and graduated from Fletcher High. I have taught for 19 years and this is my 10th year at Chets Creek. I team teach with Michelle Ellis. She has been my best friend since we were in Junior High together at Fletcher. We are proud to be graduates of The Florida State University. After college, Michelle married my brother Steve. My mother, Barbara Ellis also works with us at Chets. Everybody loves "Barbara Grandma". I am so thankful to get to see her each day and so proud that she is my mom. My husband is Marty. He works for Riddell where he designs protective equipment for colleges and the NFL. We have two daughters, Haley (16) and Madison (12). Both girls are Chets Creek alumni where they were lucky enough to be taught by amazing teachers. To say that I am blessed is truly an understatement! I am always so excited when someone asks me what I do because I get to tell them that I have the honor to teach with the most talented, dedicated, and passionate faculties on earth.
