I am blessed to
be a returning 2nd grade teacher at Chets Creek Elementary
School. I moved to Jacksonville last year from living in Ohio my entire
life. I grew up in small city called North Olmsted. Jacksonville is
much much hotter than Ohio, but the sunshine and beaches are amazing. I
have SOMEHOW adjusted to the lack of snow and freezing weather I am use
to.
My mother, father, two older sisters,
brother-in-law, nephew and two dogs still live in Ohio. My family plays an
extremely important role in my life. My sister is my best friend and
always puts a smile on my face when I need lift in my day. I can count on
her and the rest of my family for advice and guidance. I would not have
gotten where I am today with out their love and support. However, one
member of my family did move to Florida with me: My beta fish, Motion!
After graduating high school, I received my teaching degree from Bowling Green State University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood as well as an endorsement in reading. I have experience working in a kindergarten classroom and I spent the summer teaching preschool. Teaching continues to be more and more rewarding each day for me. I am constantly learning and growing right with the children. The basic foundations in education are crucial in a child’s life and I love being able to have a positive impact and fill their growing minds! Working with children has been something that has been rewarding to me my entire life. I babysat and hosted birthday parties at Chuck E Cheese when I was younger. I love being around children and putting a smile on their face. I am drawn to children and their optimistic outlook on life and happiness. I have found their energy to be contagious, which is why I find such delight in teaching. Children learn so quickly and having the power to change minds daily is a tool I plan on using throughout my life. Teaching the little ones is my calling and I cannot imagine doing any other job with the rewards I get each day in the classroom from seeing the students learn and grow. In my spare time, I always enjoy reading a good book, watching movie, shopping or being with my friends. I also love being outdoors. I spent the summers camping with my family growing up. Consequently, I live for boating, fishing, exploring nature, and sitting by campfires. I continue to explore and learn about this city and Chets Creek and I am grateful everyday for being able to teach at the most rewarding school in the world! * Reading Endorsement Prek-3 992-6390 x 195 |
