Kindergarten Has Exciting News!

The Cedar Hills Kindergarten would like to welcome all our new and returning Cedar Hills Elementary family members. We are proud to say, Kindergarten is off to a great school year! We are learning our alphabet and their corresponding sounds, sight words, nursery rhymes, good reading habits, vocabulary and even beginning to read. Your Kindergarteners are also becoming creative authors through our narrative writing study. Our math curriculum consists of Calendar Math (counting, number recognition, days, months, years, and number placement) and Math Investigations which explores shapes, patterns, and other colored manipulatives. These programs were created to help our students achieve the required Sunshine State Standards and Performance Standards. For the next nine weeks we will learn about our five senses, character traits and how to create and maintain a safe learning community. We anticipate three to four enriching school field trips this year and look forward to parent participation inside and outside the classroom. Volunteers are always welcome and appreciated. Please be sure to fill out the volunteer packet found at the front office and record all volunteer hours. Nothing is better than the opportunity to learn together!

We hope to see you at Open House September 18,2008 at 6:00p.m. We look forward to an exciting school year filled with wonderful learning experiences!
