CHARACTER EDUCATION

At CLE we have high expectations for you as model American citizens. Therefore, we instill high expectations for behaviors on our buses, walking to and from school, in all rooms of our school, and when representing us on field trips.

A school is a place where students are expected to learn. The school must be a safe place and nurturing place. Everyone must work together to make sure students can learn.

Our standards are consistent from classroom to classroom. Consequences and rewards are left to the discretion of the teacher. If a DCPS Code of Student Conduct is broken, an administrative referral is filed, and consequences will be followed as set by the DCPS School Board.

Our grades are averaged weekly in K-2 and daily in 3-5. We use this classroom conduct chart to help us stay focused on schoolwork and appropriate behaviors.

 

 

 

 

 

Bus Safety Rules

¨       ALWAYS FOLLOW THE BUS DRIVER’S DIRECTIONS

¨       BOARDING THE BUS

1)                Stand back from the curb until the bus stops and doors open

2)                Board in a single file line

3)                Sit in your assigned seat

¨       RIDING ON THE BUS

1)                Stay in your seat

2)                Talk quietly

3)                Keep your hands and feet to yourself

¨       GETTING OFF THE BUS

1)                Single file line

2)                Hold the rail

3)                Cross the street in front of bus

These rules must be followed to maintain the privilege of riding the school bus.
