School
counselors use tools such as guidance referral forms,
"reality checks," and data monitoring to identify when
students need additional support as early as possible.
Students who need assistance can be referred to the target
team or an academic improvement plan can be utilized to
identify and incorporate success strategies. |

Classroom Guidance
Each
counselor identifies the needs of their teams and uses
classroom lessons to provide students with a strong
foundation of academic and life skills.

Decision Making
School
counselors inform students of the constantly changing career
world. Counselors identify students' interest and skills,
present classroom lessons, conduct individual career
sessions and invite guest speakers.

Preparation
The Guidance
Department prepares students for their academic future by
organizing PSAT, SAT, ACT testing and administering career
interest surveys. awareness of individual needs and options
is the key to success.

In
partnership with other school personnel, School Counselors
work to support students who have been identified under
Federal programs; such as, ESE, 504, ELL and Gifted.

Individual and Group Support
Students who
need more intensive support can receive these services
through individual and group counseling. The main focus is
to help students achieve academic success.

for families who may need
outside assistance.

Parent
Nights
Periodically
parent nights will be scheduled for parents to come and
interact with other parents and staff. These sessions will
also provide a variety of informational groups to keep
parents informed and to provide help with supporting your
