Meet The Teacher
My name is Mrs.
Chapman and I am happy to be your child's fourth grade teacher this year.
I have been teaching fourth grade for almost 16 years, 11 of those years have
been right here at Englewood Elementary. I do enjoy teaching and I
sincerely hope that your child enjoys being in my class.
I am not a "Florida Native"; however, I have lived here in Jacksonville since I was about five years old. I graduated from Terry Parker High School and The University of North Florida. Immediately upon graduation I began my teaching career at West Jacksonville Elementary. I have enjoyed my years of experience and try to weave new ideas and techniques into my classroom instruction every year. Recently I earned my National Board Certification for Teaching Excellence in the field of Literacy. I look forward to using everything I learned to better teach your children.
I am an avid reader and therefore I hope to instill a "love for reading" in your child while he or she is in my class. I have always felt that if your child does not like to read then he or she just hasn't found the right book! I look forward to meeting all of you and working with you over the course of this school year.
I strongly encourage all of you to become actively involved in your child's education this year. There are many ways you can become an ardent supporter of your child's education; stay in contact with the teacher daily, let me know of any problems or concerns you may have, and talk to your child everyday.
