April
28, 2009 - Congratulations to
members of the chorus for their outstanding achievements at State
Music Performance Assessment this week in Daytona. Chorus members
were awarded a record 113 Superior medals and 112 Excellent medals
with the Women’s Chorus, Men’s Chorale, and Chamber Singers' Special
Category receiving the top awards in their categories. In fact,
every chorus member attending state received a medal for their hours
of hard work.
April 7, 2009 -
Congratulations to members of the Chorus who participated in
the Music in the Parks Festival at Busch Gardens,
Williamsburg, Virginia. Both Concert Choir and Chamber
Singers choruses were awarded 1st Place trophies for their
categories and Concert Choir receive the
“Best Overall – Senior High School Chorus” trophy. Darius
Miller, Baritone, was also chosen as “Outstanding Soloist”
for the festival.

2009- Congratulations to members of
the chorus who received outstanding ratings at District Music
Performance Assessment this weekend, Feb. 28, in St. Augustine. Treble
Chorus was rated excellent and the Men’s Chorale, Women’s Chorus,
Concert Choir and Chamber Singers were rated Superior and all qualified
for state. This means that First Coast will have more students
represented at State than any other school in Northeast Florida.

Chorus Director John Larsen received the first Carolyn Day Pfohl

April 24, 2008 -
Choruses, ensembles, and solos received an 117 Superior medals and
121 Excellent medals at the State Music Performance Assessment in
Tallahassee. Top Superior medals were award to Men's
Chorale, Women's Ensemble, Men's Ensemble, Chamber Singers Ensemble,
Chamber Singers Special Category, and soloists Jade Higgs and Reshad
McLoyd.
March 1, 2008 - Congratulations to members of the chorus for
outstanding ratings at District Music Performance Assessment at St. Augustine High School this weekend. The chorus received a
record 15 superior ratings and 5 excellence ratings qualifying the
Women's Chorus, Men's Chorale, Concert Choir and Chamber Singers to
appear at State in April. First Coast High will have more
choruses at State than any other school in North Florida.
