AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY
In this academy, master certified instructors prepare students for college and careers in the automotive industry. Successful students are eligible for on-the-job training, mentorships, internships, and dual enrollment at Florida Community College at Jacksonville (FCCJ).

Learning in advanced, up-to-date facilities, including a computerized diagnostic laboratory, students are prepared for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification. Students also benefit from the support of organizations such as General Motors, Toyota and Chrysler Youth Education Services as well as the Jacksonville Automotive Dealers Association.



COSMETOLOGY
Students learn aspects of the art and science of cosmetology. At the completion of the course, students will be prepared to take the required state board licensing exam. Students learn in a modern, fully equipped hair-and-nail salon open to the public.



CHILD CARE
This program is certified by the Department of Children and Family Services. Education is enhanced by a day-care and preschool facility on campus, open to the public. Students are prepared to achieve state certification in infant, toddler and preschool child care, CPR and food handling.



CULINARY ARTS
This program prepares graduates for occupations such as a chef, dietitian or short-order cook. Students in the program learn in an

award-winning, full-service restaurant that is open to the public. Many of our graduates continue their training at the college level and enter a culinary arts institute. Many have been employed in Jacksonville's finest restaurants and resorts.



COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY
Students in the Communications Technology Academy are prepared for industry certification in a wide range of fields. During their course of study, they regularly receive on-the-job training throught valuable internships. On-campus facilities include a  state-of-the-art production studio, an animation facility, editing suites, digital video and sound equipment and a sound room.

The electronics program is endorsed by ITT Technical Institute, which will match any academic or vocational scholarship that students earn. The Commercial Art program can boast national winners in advertising design at Skills USA-VICA.



AVIATION TECHNOLOGY
The Aviation Career Academy (ACA) program consists of three technical courses: Exploring Aviation, Aviation Electronics, and Aviation Maintenance Technology. The Aviation Maintenance Technology course is fully articulated with Florida Community College at Jacksonville's Aviation A.S. degree program. This collaboration allows students to receive college credit through Tech Prep articulation agreements already in place. It also provides students the opportunity to attain FAA's Airframe and Powerplant Technician's certification by the time they graduate from high school. Science courses appropriate to the aviation curriculum will support the technical program; one such course is Principles of Technology Physics, for which Boeing and the US Department of Energy have developed an added component to cover material sciences. Applications are only being accepted for 9th graders in this program.
