AVIATION TECHNOLOGY The Aviation Career Academy (ACA) program consists of three technical courses: Exploring Aviation, Aviation Electronics, and Aviation Maintenance Technology. The Aviation Maintenance
Technology course is fully articulated with Florida Community College at Jacksonville's Aviation A.S. degree program.
This collaboration allows students to receive college credit through Tech
Prep articulation agreements already in place. It also provides students the opportunity to attain FAA's Airframe and Powerplant Technician's certification by the time they graduate from high school. Science courses appropriate to the aviation curriculum will support
the technical program; one such course is Principles of Technology Physics, for which Boeing and the US Department of Energy have developed an added component to cover material sciences.
Applications are only being accepted for 9th graders in this program.
